Alex Johnson is a family law attorney at Petrelli Previtera, LLC, serving clients across Colorado from the firm’s Greenwood Village office. Alex handles divorce, allocation of parental responsibilities (child custody), child support, modifications, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and protection orders, helping clients navigate some of the most challenging transitions a family can face. She earned her Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law. She is admitted to practice in Colorado and Washington, D.C.

As an Associate Attorney at a humanitarian immigration firm, Alex advised more than 100 clients on T-Visas, Adjustment of Status, and Naturalization matters. She supervised case preparation for trafficking survivors, drafted legal filings, and helped clients achieve life-changing milestones such as U.S. citizenship.
Working with individuals who had experienced trafficking, domestic violence, and the uncertainty of immigration proceedings taught Alex that legal issues rarely exist in isolation. That experience shaped her client-centered approach to family law, where listening, communication, and practical guidance are just as important as legal strategy.

Alex is passionate about helping clients protect what they have worked hard to build, whether that means ensuring a fair division of assets, securing meaningful parenting time, or putting a prenuptial agreement in place before a marriage begins. She is the author of “Why a Prenup Is Not a Plan for Failure”, where she shares her perspective on how prenuptial agreements give couples a chance to make thoughtful decisions together while they are in a good place.
As someone who has seen firsthand how power imbalances can affect families and victims in domestic violence human trafficking, Alex brings a unique perspective to cases involving domestic violence, protection orders, and situations where one partner holds disproportionate control.
Outside the Office
Alex is an avid reader, an active volunteer with a local puppy rescue, and someone who is always looking for the next adventure. She loves traveling, learning about new cultures, and connecting with people from all walks of life, whether that means exploring a new hiking trail, hitting the slopes, or planning a trip somewhere she has never been. That curiosity carries over into her legal work, where she finds that understanding a client’s background and perspective makes her a better advocate.
