A compassionate advocate helping families find stability, resolution, and a path forward.
Daniel C. Howard is a family law attorney known for his empathy, strategic insight, and client-first approach. He helps individuals navigate some of life’s most difficult transitions, including divorce, custody disputes, and other sensitive family matters, with clarity and compassion. His goal is to support clients with confidence, focus, and a clear understanding of their legal options.
Dan found his calling while in law school. As someone who grew up in a family affected by divorce and custody battles, he initially intended to avoid the field altogether. But after enrolling in a family law course and gaining experience with a dedicated family law team, his perspective shifted. “I realized I could make a real impact supporting people in their hardest moments while guiding them with compassion and honesty,” he says. “I’m especially passionate about protecting the best interests of children caught in the middle of complex family transitions.”
Dan is known for his authentic ability to build rapport with clients. He listens first, helps them identify priorities, and offers practical, grounded advice. “It’s not about sugarcoating the process,” he says. “It’s about helping people make informed decisions.” Whether he is resolving issues through negotiation or preparing for trial, Dan brings empathy and steady, level-headed advocacy to his work. He ensures that clients feel heard, supported, and informed throughout the process.
Before joining Petrelli Previtera, Dan served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Michael W. Arrington in the Family Court of the State of Delaware. In that role, he conducted legal research, drafted orders, and assisted on a range of family matters. . He also has hands-on experience in personal injury, employment, and federal criminal litigation, and has worked in-house for a publicly traded fortune 500 company.
Dan’s legal experience is supported by a strong academic foundation. He earned his Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he received a Certificate in Civil Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution. He served as President of both the Ault Mock Trial Team and the LGBTQIA+ Law Student Association, and competed in the Foreign Direct Investment Moot Court.
Based in the firm’s Philadelphia office, Dan approaches every case with a thoughtful strategy and a steady, client-centered mindset. Whether he is negotiating settlements or advocating in the courtroom, he sees his role not just as an attorney but as a guide who helps clients stay informed, grounded, and empowered at every stage of the legal process.
