Greenwood Village attorney brings a background in advocacy, client-centered representation, and complex legal matters to the firm’s growing Colorado practice.

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, CO — July 2026 — Petrelli Previtera, LLC is pleased to welcome Alexandra C. “Alex” Johnson to its Colorado family law team. Based in the firm’s Greenwood Village office, Alex represents clients in divorce, allocation of parental responsibilities (child custody), child support, modifications, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and protection orders.
Alex brings to family law a strong background in advocacy and experience helping people navigate legal issues during some of the most difficult periods of their lives. Before joining Petrelli Previtera, she practiced humanitarian immigration law, advising clients in matters involving T-Visas, Adjustment of Status, and Naturalization and working extensively with survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence.
Advocacy Built Around the Client
That experience continues to shape the way Alex approaches family law.
She understands that divorce, custody disputes, and other family law matters rarely exist in isolation. Legal decisions can affect a client’s children, finances, housing, career, and plans for the future. Alex focuses on helping clients understand their options, set realistic expectations, and make decisions based on what matters most to them.
Communication and follow-through are central to her approach. She wants clients to know what is happening in their case, why it is happening, and what comes next. She also believes clients should feel comfortable asking questions and should have an attorney who listens closely to their individual goals.
Whether a client’s priority is protecting retirement assets, preserving meaningful parenting time, addressing an imbalance of power in a relationship, or planning proactively before marriage, Alex works to provide practical guidance while advocating for the outcome her client is working toward.
A Growing Interest in Proactive Family Law
Alex also has a particular interest in prenuptial agreements and proactive family law planning.
She sees a prenup not simply as preparation for the possibility of divorce, but as an opportunity for couples to have important conversations about finances, careers, property, and their expectations for the future while they are making those decisions together.
That perspective reflects Alex’s broader approach to family law: giving people information and a voice in decisions that may have a long-term impact on their lives.
Strengthening Petrelli Previtera’s Colorado Team
Alex joins Petrelli Previtera’s growing Colorado practice and will work with clients from the firm’s Greenwood Village office.
She earned her Juris Doctor from **Wake Forest University School of Law** and her bachelor’s degree in Public Policy Studies and French from **Duke University**, where she also earned a Certificate in Ethics & Society. She is admitted to practice in Colorado and Washington, D.C.
Outside of the office, Alex is an avid reader, enjoys skiing, hiking, traveling and learning about new cultures, and volunteers with a Colorado puppy rescue.
Petrelli Previtera is pleased to welcome Alex to the team and looks forward to the experience, perspective, and client-centered advocacy she brings to families throughout Colorado.
