Prior to joining the firm, Maia practiced dependency law, where she served as a Supervising Attorney for one of the nation’s largest child welfare court systems. There, she led a team of attorneys and paralegals in high-stakes cases involving allegations of abuse, neglect, and family separation. Her work included supervising trials, managing expert witnesses, training peers on courtroom advocacy, and drafting custody orders that balanced safety with reunification. Many of her cases resulted in full family restoration or successful transitions to shared parenting arrangements.

She is known among her colleagues as a thoughtful strategist and trusted courtroom advocate. She chooses her battles wisely, understanding when to negotiate and when to litigate. As a result, her voice carries weight in the courtroom, and her clients benefit from a reputation of credibility and integrity.

Maia earned her J.D. from Southwestern Law School, where she was recognized with multiple CALI Excellence Awards, and her B.A. from Yale University. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and California, and currently serves clients throughout Philadelphia, Chester, Montgomery, Delaware, Bucks, and Berks Counties.
