Meet Kristin Lis, Family Law Attorney in New Jersey

Kristin Lis Divorce Lawyer Kristin M. Lis has been exclusively practicing family law for nearly a decade. She represents clients in a variety of legal matters including divorce, support, custody, and other unique issues such as alimony, relocation, college distribution, emancipation, and adoption.

Throughout her career Kristin has continuously received recognition for outstanding legal representation from prestigious publications and legal organizations for her dedication and successes as a family law attorney. She has been named in New Jersey Super Lawyers’ Rising Stars list every year since 2017. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected to receive this honor. South Jersey Magazine has also named Kristin to its Awesome Attorneys list every year since 2009. Kristin Lis was also recognized by NJ Business People as part of the Readers’ Choice Award for South Jersey’s Most Influential Law Firms.

Kristin began building a wealth of legal experience while earning her law degree from Rutgers University School of Law. She started as a legal intern within the Juvenile Division Habitual Offender Unit at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. She then interned for the Office of the Prosecutor in Camden County, working in the Grand Jury, Trial Team, and Motions Units. Following law school, Kristin clerked in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Atlantic County for the Honorable Max A. Baker, P.J.F.P. from 2009 to 2010. After passing the New Jersey Bar, she worked as an associate for a general practice law firm.

An active member of her community, Kristin is a longtime pro bono volunteer with Volunteer Lawyers for Justice. She helped launch the organization’s Skype Family Law Clinic. In 2010, Kristin was a panelist at the Family Law Clerk Bootcamp and addressed the new class of law clerks on the responsibilities and challenges of clerking for the Family Part. In 2015, she began serving as a pro bono mediator for the Atlantic County Special Civil Part, assisting litigants in resolving matters by alternate dispute resolution.
