Meet Pennsylvania Family Lawyer, Jillian M. Emerson

Jillian M. Emerson

Jillian Emerson has dedicated her legal career to helping people and making a difference in her client’s lives. A zealous family law attorney, she understands how overwhelming the law can be when it comes to your family. While she was gaining legal experience, she saw that families needed more than an aggressive legal advocate—they needed compassion, empathy, and support.

Since then, she committed to becoming a family lawyer her clients could count on. She doesn’t hesitate to speak candidly with clients, because they need to know what they are facing and what steps they need to take to resolve their family law disputes. Attorney Emerson believes managing expectations is the key to maintaining a strong relationship with her clients.

Jillian takes the time to advocate for families who are struggling with child custody, child support, restraining orders, protection from abuse cases, divorce, and adoption, among other family law matters. One of her most rewarding cases was a recent case in which she represented the parents who were moving to terminate the rights of their child’s biological parents.

Cases of this nature can be complex and difficult to resolve, but with Attorney Emerson’s representation, the child’s foster parents were able to successfully terminate the biological parent’s rights and complete the child’s adoption. This gave the child the stability and support they needed to begin to get back to their childhood. Jillian has consulted and/or represented hundreds of individuals dealing with a wide variety of family law matters. She hopes to truly make a difference in the lives of families by taking a personalized, client-focused approach.

Attorney Emerson was born and raised in Chester County, PA where her family still resides. Before joining Petrelli Previtera, LLC as a family law attorney, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Pittsburgh. She later went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Drexel University School of Law. She gained considerable experience after graduating law school when she clerked for the Honorable Kurt Kramer, Family Law Judge of the New Jersey Superior Court in Camden County.

When Jillian is not meeting with clients or representing their families in court, she enjoys readings, spending time with family and friends, and watching sports.
